New Adelaide Fiction: Rachael Mead & Katherine Tamiko Arguile

2020 is proving to be a bumper year for new Adelaide fiction – and we're very pleased to be hosting our first Imprints Zoom event with two brilliant new debut authors, published by Affirm Press: Katherine Tamiko Arguile (The Things She Owned) and Rachael Mead (The Application of Pressure).

The Things She Owned reveals stories from Tokyo during and after the war, through the possessions left to Erika by her mother, the cruel and complicated Michiko. The two women's stories progress and entwine, uncovering secrets from Erika's past, too. The Application of Pressure traces the experiences of two paramedics, Tash and Joel, over the decades, each chapter told through a different emergency – some sad, some tense, all fascinating. We get to know these friends and workmates as their relationships with each other, and the job, deepen.

Our bookseller Jo Case will be in conversation with Katherine and Rachael about these fascinating books.

This is an online event and free to attend, though registration is essential. You can register here.
